DeWanna Bonner Re-Signs with Connecticut Sun

Multi-Year Deal for Five-Time WNBA All-Star

Uncasville, CT - February 6, 2024

The Connecticut Sun announced today that they have re-signed two-time WNBA Champion and five-time All-Star DeWanna Bonner to a multi-year contract. Bonner, who has spent the past four seasons with the Phoenix Mercury, will return to the team where she won two championships in 2019 and 2020.

Bonner is one of the most decorated players in WNBA history, having been named an All-Star five times, a WNBA Champion twice, and the WNBA Finals MVP in 2019. She is also a two-time Olympic gold medalist with Team USA.

"We are thrilled to have DeWanna back in Connecticut," said Sun head coach Curt Miller. "She is a proven winner and a leader on and off the court. Her experience and championship pedigree will be invaluable to our team as we look to compete for another title."

Bonner said she is excited to be returning to the Sun. "Connecticut is a special place for me," she said. "I have so many great memories here, and I can't wait to add to them. I'm ready to get to work and help this team win another championship."
