Leonard Vows to be Ready for Game 2
LOS ANGELES, CA - Kawhi Leonard will make his return to the Los Angeles Clippers lineup for Game 2 of their playoff series against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday, according to head coach Ty Lue.
Leonard, who missed the Clippers' Game 1 loss with a knee injury, received an injection in his knee on Monday in an attempt to play in the series opener. However, he was unable to go and was ruled out shortly before tip-off.
"Kawhi is feeling better today," Lue said after Tuesday's shootaround. "He's been working hard in rehab and he's ready to go tonight."
Leonard is a two-time NBA champion and two-time NBA Finals MVP. He has been one of the best players in the league since joining the Clippers in 2019.
With Leonard back in the lineup, the Clippers will have a much better chance of defeating the Mavericks and advancing to the second round of the playoffs.
